Gardener Temple Modern Slavery Statement

Gardener Temple is committed to preventing all forms of forced labour, servitude, human trafficking and other modern slavery practices across our operations and supply chains. This modern slavery and human trafficking statement explains our zero-tolerance approach, the steps we take to identify and mitigate risk, and how we hold ourselves and our suppliers accountable. We publish this statement to be clear that protecting human rights is a core business responsibility.

Scope, Policy and Zero-Tolerance Commitment

Our anti-slavery policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers and partners working with Gardener Temple. We operate a zero-tolerance policy toward exploitation: any evidence of forced labour, debt bondage, or human trafficking will result in immediate investigation and decisive action, including termination of contracts and legal referral where appropriate. We require all new suppliers to acknowledge and comply with our standards as a condition of engagement.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audit Programme

We maintain a risk-based supplier due diligence process that identifies and evaluates potential exposure to modern slavery across our purchasing categories and geographies. Our supplier audits and assessments include on-site checks, documentation reviews and worker interviews where permitted. Key elements include:

  • Risk mapping to prioritise suppliers by location and sector;
  • Contractual clauses requiring compliance with anti-slavery standards;
  • Periodic audits and corrective action plans for non-compliance.

Where audits uncover concerns, we implement targeted corrective actions, provide support for improvement, and monitor progress until standards are met.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Gardener Temple maintains multiple, accessible reporting channels for workers, suppliers and stakeholders to raise concerns. Reports can be made anonymously and will be treated seriously and confidentially. Our reporting framework includes:

  • Internal escalation to compliance and HR teams;
  • Independent whistleblowing service enabling anonymous submissions;
  • Third-party reporting where necessary to appropriate authorities.

Every report of suspected modern slavery or exploitation is logged, risk-assessed and investigated. We commit to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation and to taking proportionate remedial action where abuses are confirmed.

Training, Capacity Building and Remediation

We provide regular training on modern slavery risks and ethical sourcing to procurement teams, site managers and key suppliers. Training covers how to identify signs of exploitation, how to use reporting channels, and the contractual obligations suppliers must meet. Where instances of modern slavery are identified, our priority is the immediate safety and support of affected individuals, followed by remediation plans that may include:

  • Worker support and recovery measures;
  • Corrective action timelines agreed with suppliers;
  • Contract termination for persistent or severe breaches.

Our approach emphasises prevention, practical remediation and long-term supplier improvement rather than only punitive measures.

Governance, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

Responsibility for our anti-slavery efforts sits with senior leadership and is overseen by our governance committee. We monitor performance using key indicators such as audit coverage, number of reports received, remedial actions completed and supplier compliance rates. This anti-slavery statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure policies, processes and risk assessments remain effective and aligned with evolving best practice.

Each year we conduct a formal review of our modern slavery risk profile, audit findings and training outcomes. The results of that review inform policy updates, resource allocation and supplier engagement strategies for the coming year. We will continue to strengthen our systems, cooperate with industry partners and support responsible practices that eradicate modern slavery from our value chain.

Commitment: Gardener Temple will not tolerate modern slavery in any form. We will continue to identify risks, strengthen supplier oversight, promote safe reporting channels and undertake an annual review to drive continuous improvement and transparency throughout our operations and supply network.
